K–12 FSL Learning Coaches (1.0 FTE)
Location: Work Locations to be determined
Start date: Required for the 2024-2025 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS
- Ontario College of Teachers Accreditation.
- Primary/Junior/Intermediate/Senior qualifications (minimum of two).
- FSL Part 1 is required for K-12 FSL Learning Coach
- AQ FSL Specialist is an asset.
- Five years certified teaching experience an asset.
- Must be a current permanent teacher with District School Board Ontario North East
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License required, as travel is expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES The Coaches will:
- Co-plan and co-teach with classroom teachers using the TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) framework and CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) to implement high impact instructional strategies and leverage technology to enhance the learning and teaching.
- Support educators in implementing the science of reading into their literacy block.
- Co-plan and co-facilitate professional learning at the school and board level in support of the School Improvement Plans for Student Achievement and Well-being (SIPSAW) and Student Achievement (SAP) goals.
- Collaborate with school teams and classroom teachers in the development of professional learning cycles/ collaborative inquiries focusing on instructional strategies and assessments.
- Develop digital and print resources to support educators.
- Regular travel is expected within the region of the coach and some travel across regions will be required. Technology will be used to minimize travel where possible.
- The Learning Coaches will be responsible for embedding technology using the TPACK framework, developing the 21st century skills and supporting educators with the use of digital tools on iPad.
