Position Summary:

The Apitipi Anicinapek Nation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support community wellness and provide culturally appropriate supports that strengthen healing, prevention, healthy living and aftercare.

Duties:

·         Provide individual/group counselling and sharing circles to community members.

·         Plan and deliver prevention, awareness, and wellness programs.

·         Support referrals to detox and treatment centres

·         Work with Elders, traditional healers, and land-based programs to integrate cultural approaches.

·         Maintain confidential records, case notes, and reports.

Qualifications:

·         Diploma/certificate in Addictions Counselling/Social Work.

·         Must have 1 – 3 years experience in related field.

·         Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and holistic healing practices.

·         Strong communication, facilitation, and crisis intervention skills.

·         Ability to work with individuals and families with understanding and care.

·         CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check required.

·         Valid G Drivers License and Clean Drivers Abstract

Employment Details:

·         Full-time Position 8:30am to 4:00pm (hours may vary)

·         Salary – Based on education and experience

·         Based in Apitipi Anicinapek Nation

·         Frequent Travel
