Registered Dietitian & Diabetes Educator

The Registered Dietitian & Diabetes Educator provides initial and follow-up nutritional counseling services for inpatients and outpatients of Anson General Hospital, while also supporting the MICs Diabetes Program. Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition/Diabetes Program Lead, the Dietitian develops individualized care plans, educates patients and families, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness, diabetes management, and quality of life.
This role combines clinical nutrition expertise with patient-centered diabetes education, ensuring compliance with professional standards and program requirements. The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to balance independent practice with collaborative teamwork.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and successful completion of an accredited dietetic internship program
- Certified Diabetes Educator (current designation or willingness to obtain)
- Active membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Previous clinical dietetic experience considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills (French language ability considered an asset)
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to work independently and effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Proven skills in leadership, team building, problem solving, conflict resolution, and change management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Demonstrated record of reliable attendance
- Satisfactory criminal record check (required as a condition of employment)
