​Dual Credit Support Teacher                                            

Location:                      Timiskaming District Secondary School – New Liskeard

Notes for Position:                                                                                                                          

Supporting students in dual credit courses after regular school hours. A maximum of 33 hours.

​Qualifications:                      

• Ontario College of Teachers Accreditation
• Intermediate/Senior qualifications – required
• Knowledge of the dual credit offerings in the school – required
• Guidance qualifications – preferred
• Experience with Student Success – preferred

Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensure students are aware of the academic requirements and success criteria for both the relevant secondary curriculum and the college course.
• Plan and deliver or coordinate the delivery of supports and services for students in dual credit programs, including any accommodation specified in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Assist dual credit students in navigating the college environment and accessing college resources and programs.
• Interact and communicate directly and on an ongoing basis with dual credit students, the students’ other secondary school teachers, and college staff.
• Coordinate the exchange of information about students’ academic progress, including marks and attendance data.
• Encourage students to document and reflect on the knowledge and skills they develop throughout the dual credit experience in their Individual Pathways Plan (IPP).
• Work with college professors and instructors to ensure that students are aware of the opportunities available to them in the event that they do not successfully complete their college course(s).

 Rate: $61.02 per hour – Teachers are required to submit Timesheets
